Open Question: i need help seting up ienternet in my BlackBerry 8330 Curve?
i jzt bought a Black Berry 8330 Curve this weekend n i was told the internet would start working after 4 hours n its been 5 days and its still not working i been calling technical support but they jzt keep sending me an e mail but its confusing it looks like this
Simple Mobile Blackberry Data Setup
The first thing that needs to be done is program the Simple Mobile APN.
• On the Blackberry do the following
• Go to Options
• Go to Advanced Options
• Go to TCP/IP
• Be sure there is a check mark for APN Settings Enabled
• For the APN type “simple”
• Click on the Blackberry menu button and choose “Save”
Steps to install Opera Mini onto a Blackberry to enable web browsing
If the Blackberry has Wi-Fi
• Open Manage Connections
• Put a check mark in Wi-Fi
• Choose Setup Wi-Fi
• Scan For Networks
• Choose available network
Open one of the Browsers that are on the Blackberry (Looks like a Globe)
• Go to http://mini.opera.com
• Click on “Download Opera Mini”
• You will see a Permission Screen. Click on Download.
• Message comes up a couple of times “This application does not contain a signature. It might now be from a trusted source. Do you want to continue.
• Click on Yes
• May ask to reboot.
From your PC
• Open web browser and go to
• Click on Download “Opera Mini Version 4.”
• On the next screen choose the device that you are downloading for:
• Blackberry then Model.
• If your model is not showing you will need to click Opera Mini generic version.
• If your model is there you will see the following screen.
Download instructions
1. Select preferred language for Opera Mini:
2. Transfer this file to your PDA, and install it:
opera-mini-advanced-us.zip
Click on the link above “opera-mini-advanced-us.zip” (Name may vary)
• Save the file to your PC’s desktop
• Find the file downloaded
• Right click on the file and choose EXTRACT
• Open Blackberry Desktop Manager
• Click on Application Loader from Blackberry Desktop Manager
• Click on Add or Remove Applications from Blackberry Desktop Manager
• Click on Browse from Blackberry Desktop Manager
• Browse to where you saved the file Application.
• You should only see one file called operette-hifi-en-us-nojsr75.alx
• Click on that file and then click on Open
• Click on Next from Blackberry Desktop Manager and follow the prompts
Steps to install Gmail Application for E-mail once a data connection has been established through WiFi
Once you have connected to WiFi, follow the below instructions to download and install the Gmail application.
Open the Opera web browser;
• Go to http://gmail.com/app
• Click on “Install Now”
• Click on “Open”
• Message opens up “The application Opera Mini is attempting to invoke the browser to view m.google.com. Would you like to allow this?”
• Click on Yes
• Click on Download
If no WiFi is available then email can be accessed by browsing to the email provider’s website.
