Voting Question: Do you have to have a data plan to buy a PDA from ATT&T or Sprint?
My Sprint contract runs up in about a month and I want to take advantage of the rebate for signing a new contract. I want to buy a smartphone (either an iPhone or probably a Blackberry) but don’t want to pay for a data plan until the beginning of next year (I’ll be moving soon and want to save as much as I can until I settle down).
I’ve heard though that you can’t buy or use a smartphone without purchasing a data plan as well. Is that true? If it is I’ll probably buy the smartphone anyways and just start paying the data plan right away but I’d rather wait if that’s an option.
Resolved Question: Is att worth staying with as my familys mobile carrier?
Now if you buy a PDA/smartphone you have to pay $30 for internet per month. There service has only went downhill in the last 3 months.
Any recommendations on Mobile carriers?

Resolved Question: Are there any NON LG cell phones that are similar to the LG Xenon?
I’m looking for a new cell phone. I want a phone with a full qwerty keyboard and a touch screen, but I don’t want an LG phone. I text a lot (not every hour, but ever week), and I want a good internet browser. I’m not a business man, so I don’t need a PDA, but I would like a smartphone. What are my options?
Resolved Question: Itouch and vista, are they compatible?
I’m thinkng about getting the itouch for nursing school. Does the itouch have any issues when used with a computer that has vista?
im also looking for any suggestions that anyone may have on a good pda. I can’t afford a smartphone that requires a data plan.
Resolved Question: What is the cheapest family plan combination for Verizon?
I’d like to switch over to Verizon for the new Droid. Currently, we pay about ~$70 on a 2-line T-mobile family plan for minimal minutes and 1000 texts on my line. How much more would I expect to pay on a similar 2-line family plan with minimal minutes and an unlimited text plan only on my line? Also, because the droid is a smartphone, am I required to pay the $30/month extra for PDA/Smartphone Email? what exactly is this?
Voting Question: AT&T Data plan confusion?
I’m currently using an unlocked G1 on AT&T. I went way over my data usage ($1200 over) and AT&T said they would backtrack it if I signed up for a data plan. I said ok and they gave me the Data Unlimited plan ($15). What is the difference between the Data Unlimited Plan ($15) and the PDA Personal Plan ($30)? Will I be charged more since I have a smartphone and am using the internet as much as I want or will the Data Unlimited cover that?
nah to what? Will the data unlimited be enough or wont it?
Open Question: I am looking to purchase a new smart phone and need to find my best options.?
I have T-Mobile. I need to purchase a smartphone/pda that can run the following applications.
1. Tarascon
2. Epocrates
3. Ferris Clinical Advisor
I am a nurse practicioner and need this phone to run these apps, and also allow me to access the internet and e-mail.
Thanks!
