Voting Question: Can my Palm Tungsten E2 Power Pda Charge on the USB sync cable?

So i was raiding my bedroom today and i found an old Palm Tungsten E2 Power PDA lying around. I remember that when i was younger, i would search for hours on end for the power cable (since the PDA died years ago and the power cable went missing), but to no avail. I have found a USB cable that fits, and i have tried plugging it into my computer, but it wont start. Can the USB sync cable charge the PDA, or am i out of luck?

Open Question: What can I get to replace my Palm PDA?

I can’t afford to switch to a blackberry due to the added monthly service charges and need something that will sync to Microsoft Outlook.
This is not a smartphone and they no longer seem to make free standing PDA’s. I need something, not a phone, to manage appts and contacts that will sync with outlook.

Open Question: What is the best electronic alternative to a checkbook?

I am considering a PDA (Palm OS 5) that syncs with my desktop. It is clear to me that having my finances in electronic form would have some real advantages. A portable device makes the most sense to me because I don’t want to use my home computer to enter every transaction. But whatever I use needs to be reliable and user friendly. Please share your experience and any recommendations. Thanks!

Open Question: Looking for an economical handheld GPS for mapping or surveying?

I’m looking for a handheld GPS or possibly a card or accessory for a laptop or PDA (Treo, Blackberry, Palm Pilot, etc) to use do some mapping and casual “surveying” of a piece of rural property.

Basically want to mark the location of features on a piece of property – creeks, gullies, trees, easements, well, outbuildings, etc.

Open Question: What cell phone/PDA should I buy?

I used to have a Blackberry Pearl 8110 that I loved, but I made the decision to trade it in for an iPhone instead. I hated the iPhone because I cannot acclimate to a touch-screen, and it had a lot of glitches. I am on AT&T, and I currently have a Blackberry Pearl Flip that is Unlocked. I thought I would have liked the phone, but it does not have the typical Blackberry Quality, and I am unable to get my email set up because it is unable to fully connect with the AT&T Network.

I am planning on purchasing my phone through eBay, it does not have to be new, but I would prefer to it be originally made for AT&T considering my trouble with my current unlocked phone.

Open Question: Are there any non-phone PDA’s still being made?

I really like the Palm and Sony PDA’s from several years ago, but they’ve all seemed to have disappeared and replaced by smartphones with tiny screens.

Palm Pre WebOS 1.3.1 update available now

“Coming days earlier than we were told to expect it is Palm webOS 1.3.1. Weighing in at 126 MB, webOS 1.3.1 brings a number of under-the-hood changes to the webOS, as well as a number of new features:
Yahoo support in Synergy
Improved notifications for emails
A track scrubber in Music
Text message forwarding
Custom ringtones for text messages (see changelog for instructions)
Google contact sync only now pulls from My Contacts all emails
Google Apps and Yahoo Small Business work with Email
PIN lock timer
Dozens of bug fixes have also been incorporated into webOS 1.3.1. Currently webOS 1.3.1 is only available for Pre owners on Sprint and Bell; GSM Pre owners can expect the update by the end of November. The full changelog is posted after the break.
A word of caution to all patchers and themers: before updating remove all patches and themes. We don’t want you to accidentally screw up your Pre. We’re doing it and so should you.” via precentral.net
