I got a UMPC net book for Christmas and its broken, I wanted to change the desktop image, and it was larger than the resolution, and wasn’t showing up, so i thought if i restarted it it would work, and it hasn’t even turned on since, every time i turn it on it says “application error explorer.exe encountered a serious error and had to end” or something along those lines.
Its specs are:
Windows CE 6.0
system drive (with CE that i cant assess) about 500 MB i think
flash memory 1.5 GB
128 Mb RAM
333 mHz processor
and i have an 8 Gb SDHC Card
I know its a little thing, more or less a glorified PDA, but its cool for what i want
Is there key combination i can press that i don’t know of, it doesn’t even start explorer after all, or a Linux i can start in maybe if it will even boot off of
I have two 1GB USB drives, and a 110 GB portable HD, and a couple SD cards

I’m a bit of a technophobe when it comes to my PDA; i can get on internet, send and receive texts, call people and so on, but i know jack all about how to work the security setting and memory card business. I’ve had the phone about 6 months and i’ve been using the same 2.0gb memory card all of that time, now all of a sudden it’s decided it doesn’t want to let me access it! I’ve tried turning it on and off again, using the memory card in another phone, cleaning it, leaving it out for 2 hours, nothing seems to work!
When i put the card in the screen lights up. And that’s all it does. I can’t access the files or use any of the content whatsoever.

Someone please help, I’ve got all my pictures from christmas and my mum’s 40th on the memory card, i can’t lose them!!

I am eligible for a new phone update, and I want to buy a phone, but to sell. Is this possible? I want to get a good phone from verizon.com and without openning it, i like to sell it on Ebay and use the old phone i have.

first off PLEASE ONLY ANSWER IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT:

anyways, i want to get a Palm Cenrto for Verizon, its older (i think late 2007) to replace my current piece of crap phone. My plan is just talk, i think 700 min, unlt. text and NO internet plan. i have called numerous Verizon retailers and they said i will have to start subscribing to the data pack in order for the phone to “work right” but, i dont need the internet. THEN on the otherhand i called some other Verizon retailers and they said “oh its fine you dont need the data package because its been out since earlier 2009″ i know what Verizon started forcing the data plan on smartphones, PDA’s blackberrys ect. earlier this year, but ive also heard if your just purchasing an older phone you dont have to subscribe….any helpers or someone that works on verizon? and if i dont have to get it would this work with the HTC XV6900???

PLEASE i need to know soon via im getting the phone on ebay and its ending soon

I don’t understand. This is all new to me. When you have a cell phone or a ipod touch that can check email at a WiFi location how do you connect to it ? I mean, do you have to pay for that service? I was told that with a WiFi laptop or cell phone or palm or pda or whatever thing you using that you can buy airtime cards or something or some kind of 3G card that lets you get on the internet? I don’t understand any of this. how do you pay for it, who do you pay, and how much does it cost?
I have the internet at home through my cable company, so I pay them to have the internet. So I dont understand when you go to a coffee shop forexample, and you have a lap top or a Ipod touch, who do you pay to get on the internet?

I hope this makes sense to someone out there… I know I sound stupid… I’m not stupid but I am old school.
