Resolved Question: Looking for a Strong PDA/Smartphone?

Author: I broke my HTC Touch Pro 2 last month it was only 4 months old, before that i had an Iphone 3G it died in 6 months, and before that one i had the Nokia N97 It died in 6 months. I spend over 1500 euro’s (2200$) on phones in 1 year.
At the end of this month i will be buying a new one so i’m looking for a VERY strong pda/smart phone or just a mobile phone. It has to be one with many features also with a good 3G/WiFi/Email/Browser. My Budget is around 900$.

Open Question: What is the best portable electronic note taking device?
I am looking for an electronic note taking device similar to a PDA. I can not afford the expensive prices of a smartphone. My friend recommended the ipod Touch. I have a laptop but i dont want to have to take it to class everyday. What do you think would be best suited for me?
Resolved Question: can I get 5,5 volt 2700 mA from 12 volt car battery?
I have a pda and only I can chage it at home with my adapter from 220 v ac to 5,5 v 2410 mA dc.
Is it possible I can charge it when I am in car?

Open Question: if I don’t need internet access or email, will i still need a data plan with an unlocked cell phone?
My Palm Pilot has finally died and am looking for a combo PDA/phone. Don’t want or need internet access or email. Want a phone with a good calendar to track appointments and an address book where can add mailing addresses. Any suggestions?

Resolved Question: Single Marine getting BAH?
I know it’s possible for single servicemembers to get BAH and live off base, but I am trying to determine the eligibility requirements.
My sister moved to Virginia (also where my husband and I are stationed) 6 months ago to live with her long term boyfriend who is E4 in the Marines. He is also my husband’s best friend and co worker.

Resolved Question: canon vs nikon dilemma – Change brands or not?
I know this is an ongoing saga!!. However I really would like to get some further advice on this matter as I have got rid of my Canon 450D and lens and would like to start up again from scratch. I would not like to switch to canon then to nikon then back or vice versa. I like to shoot low-light events such as concerts but not limited to concerts.I am not limited though to concert photography. I need my camera as a general travel camera and for landscapes. Though I might say that macro-world is not my cup of tea.
In practice, I have checked my friends Nikon D90 and D3000 and for sure the images are sharper than 450D (all kit lenses). I have noticed quite a difference at high ISOs. For example an image high-iso 1600 + good lighting would compare to Canon’s ISO 800.Very usable. Pixel peeping shows the difference. Even a polish/english image quality experiment demonstrated the same. IMO the Nikon’s colours are more vibrant.
What I do not like D90:
1) 4.5fps rather 6.5 50D
2) Build not so rugged as 50D
3) Slow AF kit lens
4) No live histogram
5) Info in viewfinder is limited compared to canon
7) 12-bit RAW

Resolved Question: Where to get Windows CE 5.0 Software? Compatibility?
I have Googled around, but no avail. Although I do get Pocket PC, but I hear that it’s not the same and will not work.
So, is there any sites to get Windows CE 5 software, such as Games, Editors, Players or even Emulators?
Open Question: PLEASE HELP can download a 3gp codec for pocket pc {hp ipaq rx1950}?
