Voting Question: Can I still buy a PDA like my old Palm-V?
I used to own a Palm-V and I still keep a lot of records on the desktop software that came with it. My Palm-V is long dead. I’ve even bought a few old Palm PDAs at flea markets or online, but even after obtaining new batteries for them they don’t work either. The Palm company doesn’t appear to make anything but cell phones anymore. (I have an iPhone and am not likely to switch to the Palm phone for a long time.)
Does anyone make a knockoff of the Palm that works with the Palm OS and that will synch with my existing palm desktop?
Review of Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro U8i GSM UMTS Phone
“The only difference from Vivaz is in the addition of QWERTY keypad. This is a niche model as the number of people who need QWERTY keypad in the side slider below €400 is relatively small. Other solutions, which attract attention, are available as well. For Sony Ericsson it was a cheap way to come up with one more model without additional R&D expenses. If Vivaz targets young people, here the corporate users are in the center of attention, which is clear from the presence of the keypad. But the shot misses the target as both models have the same audience. There are no changes here, the phone is chosen predominantly by girls without particular insight into the world of mobile devices, but who need a nice looking solution with the keypad. The first month of sales proves the niche status of the phone. There is some demand for it, but this hero of the shelves will not stay there for long. It is not the product Sony Ericsson needs to return to the market” Read more here:

Voting Question: Whats better Straight talk from Walmart or Virgin Mobile?
I need a phone for texting, calling and web. I want a good phone like a smartphone (I use my phone like a pda at times) How is the coverage for both?
Open Question: Why can’t any company make a decent PDA/smartphone?
I started off years ago with the Treo 650, which was an excellent PDA, great for email, ok for surfing the web, but not such a good phone. It fell behind the times in technology, though. When it wore out, I let a salesman talk me into an iPhone, which I hated. It made a terrible PDA and terrible for email. The only things it did well was surf the web and play music. It’s horrible at everything else. Now that I’ve retired it, I’ve gone to a Blackberry. It’s a good PDA and pretty good at email, but surfing the web on it is almost physically painful.
So all those functions are important to me: PDA, email, music, and web surfing. I want the Treo/Blackberry form factor with a physical QWERTY keyboard coupled with as large of a touchscreen as possible. Why can’t I find such a device?
Thanks, but those are all horizontal sliders. I’d prefer the Treo/Blackberry formfactor that allows for one-hand use.
Voting Question: why ebay treat separate ways to people?
i listed an auction to sell my own guide on ebay. and after an hour ebay removed it by saying this is a digital delivery item. i learned that rule and i have no problem with that. also this is the 3rd time ebay removes my auction an i won’t do it again.
my problem is this. there are lots of top rated sellers who violates this rule.
eg
http://cgi.ebay.com/JAILBREAK-UNLOCK-SOFTWARE-IPHONE-3G-3-0-OS-/250489834134?cmd=ViewItem&pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3a525b8a96
but why they won’t remove their listings. why only me??. this guy have sold more than 48 items and he’s getting more than 100 feedback per month. which means he’s selling more than 100 items but ebay staff won’t see it. not only him there are lots of sellers like this.

HTC to Put Sense on Windows Phone 7 Devices
“Microsoft’s upcoming Windows Phone 7 operating system is set to arrive on the market with a great deal of changes when compared to the current versions, one of which would be the limitation to the number of UI changes handset vendors can apply. This might prove an issue for some mobile phone makers out there, which made a name out of the customer user interfaces they thrown over stock mobile operating systems. One of these companies would be HTC, though the company does not seem discouraged by the limitations imposed by Microsoft. The handset vendors custom UI, called HTC Sense, is expected to keep on living, even if Microsoft says that no modifications of the Windows Phone 7 interface are allowed. It seems that some sort of Sense would still be included in the company’s future Windows Phone 7 devices, expected to arrive sometime in October.” Read more here:
