HTC Push Out Android 2.2 Froyo Update for Desire Now

” After plenty of the rumor release schedule, Android 2.2 Froyo is finally released for HTC Desire users. The update is just released now, available over the air for unlocked/unbranded models only. Other than update your Desire with Froyo, the software update also adds 720p video capture, HTC’s App Share widget, enhanced HTC Caller ID, and improved multi-language keyboard. HTC has previously confirmed that it will bring Android 2.2 Froyo to all of its 2010 Android smartphones. Starts with HTC Desire, the company has also planned to push out the updates for HTC Evo 4G users in US on Tuesday, Aug 3rd next week.” via slashphone.com

Voting Question: Why can’t any company make a decent PDA/smartphone?

I started off years ago with the Treo 650, which was an excellent PDA, great for email, ok for surfing the web, but not such a good phone. It fell behind the times in technology, though. When it wore out, I let a salesman talk me into an iPhone, which I hated. It made a terrible PDA and terrible for email. The only things it did well was surf the web and play music. It’s horrible at everything else. Now that I’ve retired it, I’ve gone to a Blackberry. It’s a good PDA and pretty good at email, but surfing the web on it is almost physically painful.

So all those functions are important to me: PDA, email, music, and web surfing. I want the Treo/Blackberry form factor with a physical QWERTY keyboard coupled with as large of a touchscreen as possible. Why can’t I find such a device?
Thanks, but those are all horizontal sliders. I’d prefer the Treo/Blackberry formfactor that allows for one-hand use.
