Doing color in electrophoresis displays is pretty difficult and would likely have a very bad penalty on the possibility of animation. It is not impossible but come on... this is the first generation of e-ink devices. We didn't start with color in lcd technology either.

BTW, to the idiots bashing it, pay attention! What's being displayed is a developers kit, NOT an actual E Ink device. It's used to by those who want to create content for E Ink devices and those devices themselves.

Awesome-although I can do without the flashing ads. As for the people wanting color-color is far beyond the capabilities of E-ink at this time, so don't hold your breath.

That crossed my mind too I think it's neat. I wonder how long it will take to come out and how I can justify purchase as I just bought a Kindle

It is not LCD it is e-Ink. Completely different technology. And it is on a board because is it intended for developers. Complete product will look different of cause.

So it's an LCD display with external circuit board guts next to it pinned down to a board? The future of newspapers? Maybe one you show us something that looks like it was made in a 4th graders basement as his science project.

Some people STILL think putting a man on the moon is crazy. ;-)

The newspaper of the future is already here. It's called the Internet.

Too small, at least must be one A4 size.and B/W o come on..please use colors, there are some other project that use colors instead a combination of BW.Need to improve more!!!

Awesome. And what better way to show off new e-ink technology than displaying animation in a 12-pixel square?
