Fair enough. Everyone should have respect. However, I don't don't the professional capabilities of homosexuals, at all. I'm sure that make significant contributions to the organizations they are involved with. However, it's the lifestyle that I disagree with. So, if you feel that I have a more gentlemanly approach towards expressing my point of view then I am quite flattered indeed. tell me, why do you care enough treatment of gays to have this conversation? are you a law student?

an excellent question, iceladydea. and in that question is the answer. The LOTR presents an unrealistic portrayal of masculinity. There is no way that any group of Men, elves, dwarves, and hobbits should have accomplished that. It is of course, beyond machismo. However, just as women in western society are expected to hold some standard of Helenesque beauty similarly men are expected to be Achilles. There are straight men who can make fun of that in themselves. like me.

Homosexuals are a specific group of people. There are homosexuals everywhere. They are in the law enforcement, in the military, they are doctors, and teachers, and pastors, they are a group of people, just like everyone else. Its not the fact that you are insulting one British actor, its the fact that because a lot of homophobes will attack people who are gay, and not respect their talents as a professional, they will not be recognized for their work. They are people that should have respect.

I respect that you have different opinions, and that you are being polite about this. I was just saying that if you have a dislike of a group you should please keep your opinion to yourself. We have our biases, and its one thing if we tell these to those that are close to us, but its another thing to say such an opinion in public, where a lot of people living different lifestyles visit. We should respect that everyone is different. Im glad that you respect Sir Ian McKellan as an actor though

And hello to you, FMAStudent, and thank you for your apology. And first of all, to your reply, this video is purely for entertainment. Its for fun. A lot of humor pokes fun at some of the values of movies. I adore the Lord of the Rings movies, I grew up with the characters(I was read the books growing up), like they were a part of my family. So if anyone should be offended, it should be me, but Im not. If you knew the context of the video would be a gay parody on LOTR, why did you watch it?
