Kammorremae: Your information is correct and the person arguing with you is mostly incorrect. I wouldn't use the word, "blame", though. It doesn't serve much purpose but inflame emotions when most people on the internet are looking for something to "jump on".

pleasent73: It was built by the Nazis. There were swastikas on the tail fins. The dirigible was a showcase for German engineering. Also, keep in mind that during this time, people - including the US government - did not know what the Nazis would end up doing at concentration camps and the atrocities were not known at this time.

they were doing a tour to show off the blimp, they were gonna turn around at new york and go back to nazi germany. so yea there were all nazia abord it when it crashed. it even had huge swasticas on the blimp
