The first two chords: Are we arriving, or are we beginning?

This piece of music reminds me of one of Beyonce's older songs..Great performance of a mediocre symphony though

I love the viola thing at 4:48! It reminds of the great fugues that would be written many years later by composers like Elgar and Barber.

Conducting is an art form in itself. Conducting is almost a necessity for these large orchestral pieces, and when the composers wrote their pieces, they knew that it would be taken up into the hands of other conductors at some point in time. Besides, conductors never claim that the music they conduct is theirs (unless, of course, they're conducting music that they wrote themselves). Much worse, are the pop artists that have songs written for them, and then perform them as their own.

Von Karajan is the Gold standard for Beethoven in my opinion. I have seen that colleages described him as lonely, I think he had Beethoven in his heart for company. He seems to feel the music very personally.

Second movement sounds like the 3rd cello Sonata.

I have some questions: What if a person (alive obviously) writes a concerto and then conducts it (the debut, perhaps)? Isn't he conducting his own music? Numerous living composers fit the bill. Please, watch your mouth, and consult a dictionary.

i love the seating here, makes for optimal viewing of the conducter (from the musicians), acoustics, and conducting (so he doesn't have to turn to the individual sections as much)

you dumb fuck, ALL conducters cunduct other people's work, it's not like all over the world the same DEAD guy is gonna be physically able, dip shit.
