Chalmers Johnson, author of Blowback, Sorrows of Empire and Nemesis: The Last Days of the American Republic , talks about the similarities in the decline of the Roman and Soviet empires and the signs that the U.S. empire is exhibiting the same symptoms: overextension, corruption and the inability to reform.Chalmers Johnson is president of the Japan Policy Research Institute, a non-profit research and public affairs organization devoted to public education concerning Japan and international relations in the Pacific. http://www.jpri.org/

I've never heard him "deflect" criticism of Israel onto the U.S. I've heard and read him lay blame on both countries for the ongoing problems and especially the escalation of violence.

Zionism. He blames the US and oil needs rather than going to the heart of the problem in the middle east. He deflects criticism of Israel onto the US. (which is playing out in front our eyes in a very horrifying fashion right now) This is the true problem in the middle east.

"Another pseudo intellectual with nothing original to say to us."I think you posted this comment on the wrong video. You were lookng for the Bill O'Reilly video, or the Sean Hannity video, or the Rush Limbaugh video. So go post it on one of those videos.

He's right on several points: One,90% of what SocialScientist like himself say are wrong. Two, vested interest will make it difficult for any President to make changes. And third, the Media is for Bush(hehe).
