Bf109B and C had guns in the cowling, some D and all E had wing guns, main armament moved back to the cowling/through the prop shaft for F, G, K but G and K had podded optional wing guns. These guns appear to be within the wings - either an E or a Merlin-engined (e.g. Spanish post-war) variant thereof.

The later ME109's had 20mm cannons in the wings. Some even had 30mm cannons on pods underneith the wings.
