Yes the flute is played by Bobby Jaspar. He was a Belgian musician, born in 1926 in Liège, passed away in '63 in NY. He played the saxophone (he liked the tenor best), the clarinet and the flute. Besides, he had an engineer's degree of chemics.

I recently found an album of music played by Berklee students that was recorded when Ms. Akiyoshi was a student there. She was the pianist/composer/arranger of music. (Stop drooling, it's most unbecoming!) And yes, her daughter Monday Michiru is... just wonderful!!

Thank you very much for uploading these shows. Besides the incredibly swinging playing it is really cool to see and hear Doc Severisen at such an early age.
