The Dell has Windows Mobile 6.0 by Football, but the Self Diagnostic Mode itself runs has a own bios-like i think

dell axim x5 or x51V? i don't know if it works with x5.. but normaly, it won't format the memory, unless you press the calender button at the exit (don't do that, it WILL format the storage!)
