How to replace the screen on a Palm Treo 650 pda/phone. Doing it yourself will save about $100. Screens are available on E-Bay! (NOTE!! The desk this was performed on has a metal base, not top. This fact, combined with me wearing shorts during the filming, means I was grounded. MAKE SURE YOU ARE GROUNDED before opening your Treo. ESD straps are CHEAP and available at any Radio Shack or electronics dealer worth more then 2 pence)

Just make sure the cable is all the way in to its slot. It may lock in place, but not be in all the way.

Screen installed fine, but some buttons don't work now. Re-seated the keyboard cable 3 times now with no luck. Any hints?

It's the rubber washer that, at first, I forgot to put back in my Treo in the video. You'll just have to find a way to keep the Treo face down while you put the back cover on. This will not allow it to come up and off of the camera lens.

Hey! That was quick!! There is a ring on the lens. The left side of the camera has a black 1/2 circle. I think its one of the rubber "washers" that sits on the lens, but I can't get it to stay out of the way when I put the phone back together. There is one thick rubber washer that sits on top of the lens between it and the camera. I was thinking of just removing that but then there would be no cushion between the lens and the little metal bracket that sits on top of it.

Answer: The 680 is not a 650. Therefore, I don't know. I also stopped using a Treo years ago. Great idea, awful software.

Would this method work with a 680?
